Principal Maldonado

Happy to be starting his fifth year as principal of Chelsea Heights Elementary, Principal Guillermo Maldonado Pérez is a bilingual educator and leader with a passion for supporting students, families, and staff. He began his teaching career as a middle school teacher in Mexico City before moving to Minnesota, where he continued his work in education as an elementary teacher.

Throughout his career, Principal Maldonado Pérez has gained experience in full-immersion, dual-immersion, International Baccalaureate (IB), and AVID settings. He has also served as a Peer Assistance and Review (PAR) mentor and as assistant principal at Creative Arts Secondary in Saint Paul Public Schools.

Since becoming principal of Chelsea Heights in 2022, he has been committed to fostering a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every student can thrive. He values strong partnerships with families and believes that collaboration, equity, and a sense of belonging are essential to student success.
