| Thematic Approach to the School Year The "Everyday Math" program is used to teach kindergarten math skills (patterning, counting, geometry, measurement, story problems, etc.) Reading readiness skills are taught using phonics and 'the letter of the week'. Below is a sample of the units I use for a thematic approach to learning all curriculum areas (reading, writing, science, social studies, the arts).
