Welcome to First Grade                                Friday,  May 16 This week we completed Unit 9 in Math.  This unit introduced lots of vocabulary (fractions, numerators, denominators) and new ways to look at and use the Number Grid.  These are beginning skills and will be reintroduced in second grade.  Look for the unit assessment in next weeks Friday folder. Our Writer’s workshop has been great.  Below is a poem that the class completed together.  The children are working independently also and creating some amazing poetry.  It will be making its way home soon.
