Dear Parents,

We will continue to be very busy, so even though the weather is nice, I will be assigning homework. To prepare your child well for fifth grade we will be covering much material in class. Continue to encourage reading books, reporting the summary in the yellow laminated booklet, and reviewing homework each night. We love your support!

DAILY LANGUAGE:

DAILY GEOGRAPHY: Lessons 26-27

SPELLING: Words from the packet called "Twice Told Tales" will be the spelling words for the week. Your child was given the list last Fri.. The pretest is Monday, and the final test is Fri.. The spelling packet is due Wednesday. PLEASE WORK WITH YOUR CHILD ALL WEEK!

READING: Most of the class is reading a short story entitled "The Three Little Pigs and the Fox" and working on skills in an accompanying packet. Other students are working in small group with Ms. LaBoutier. THANKS FOR ENCOURAGING YOUR CHILD TO READ AT LEAST 25 BOOKS THIS YEAR, THE DISTRICT RECOMMENDATION. READING MAKES KIDS SMARTER! Reading homework pages this week are 2 stories with assessment skills each night. PLEASE CHECK OVER THE SHEETS AT HOME WITH YOUR CHILD TO MAKE SURE THE ANSWERS ARE ACCURATE.

GRAMMAR: Chapter 6 pages 208-215. Your child should be reviewing the chapter each night.

SOCIAL STUDIES: . Your child is to memorize the entire U.S.A.. Your child has maps in his homework folder. We have completed chapter 8. The test for chapter 8 will be Wed. YOUR CHILD SHOULD BE READING THESE LESSONS TO YOU AT HOME TO PREPARE FOR THE UPCOMING TEST THIS WEDNESDAY.

MATH: We are in chapter 8. Please have your child review facts each night!! Please look over your child's journal regularly, and ask developmental questions.HE SHOULD LOOK OVER HIS JOURNAL EACH NIGHT TO PREPARE FOR THE CHAPTER 8 TEST WHICH HE WILL BEGIN ON WED.. Each night your child has a math homework page. The pages this week are varied.

WRITING: We are working on a person report.

HANDWRITING: Handwriting is ongoing. Your child is finishing his cursive book at home to be turned in to me as soon as possible before the end of the year.PLEASE TURN IN YOUR CURSIVE BOOK COMPLETED BY THE END OF THE YEAR.
