Mrs. Bartol's Fifth Grade Class Welcome to Ms. Bartol's 5th Grade! We have an exciting and very full year ahead, one that will be challenging but satisfying.  5th Grade is a big step up, where students begin applying their skills to more difficult concepts in reading, writing, and math.  Responsibility is a large part of moving up to the 5th Grade.  Students strive to become self-directed learners, managing their time, resources and planners with parent assistance and teacher guidance.  The student planner is key to student success as organized, self-directed learners.  Check your students planner daily to find out how well they are managing. Completed assignments will be starred (*), and incomplete or missing assignments will be circled.  There is a place each week, whenever necessary, for parent/teacher communications, which makes the planner an effective home/school communication tool. I look forward to working as a team with you and your child as we create a successful 5th grade experience!
