Volunteering
2 Hour Power Pledge
Chelsea Heights has a wonderful tradition of parents and community members coming together to benefit the school and its students.

The PTO encourages everyone to take the 2- Hour Power Pledge. It’s your commitment to helping out with an event, regular committee, conference meals or in any other way you can. There are so many opportunities to stand up and take part.    Our goal is to reach 1,000 hours of time volunteered.
Anyone who completes their Power Pledge or donates $5.00 or more will receive an awesome Chelsea Heights tote bag.

We look forward to meeting you! Look for more information coming home soon.

Chelsea Heights Reading Buddies
We need people willing to read one-on-one each week with 3 children in the primary grades from 8:30-9:15. This should be something you can do the same day each week. It’s a wonderful experience and we have fun! If you are interested, please call John Giese, Chelsea Heights Librarian, #293-8790 or send an e-mail John.Giese@spps.org.

Our goal is to have at least 50 volunteers so we are able to help 150 children.

Experience Corps
WANTED: Older adults to make a difference in the life of a child.
Experience Corps (sponsored by Volunteers of America) places adults 50+ as literacy tutors in K-3 classes for 4-15 hours/week.

This year we are starting a partnership with Chelsea Heights Elementary School. In addition to the joy and satisfaction of helping a child learn to read, tutors who make a 10 or 15 hour weekly commitment receive a small stipend. No previous experience necessary.
