Welcome to Chelsea Heights kindergarten. Our school hours are 8:35 to 3:05. We are an all-day program with a thematic approach.
Our reading program is phonetic-based with the children learning a letter and letter-sound per week. Homework on the letter will be attached to your Monday newsletter and sent in your child's daily folder. The children also have other assigned homework during the week. Please check your child's folder.
Our math program, Everyday Math, emphasizes colors, shapes, patterning, number recognition and counting by 1s,2s,5s, and 10s.
We encourage parent participation in your child's education by working in the classroom, reading nightly to your child, helping with homework and reinforcing skills taught in kindergarten.
Our kindergarten mission statement at Chelsea Heights is to develop socially responsible children as well as strong academic learners. Our focus is reading, writing, and math.
