Happy Friday! (Rainy again!)
This week we published a class book called “Counting from Uno to Veinte.” Each student was given a number (1 through 20). They drew a picture of that many objects and then wrote two sentences: one in English and one in Spanish. They also drew longs and cubes for their given number. The book will be on display during Showcase next Thursday (May 8th).
We began our poetry unit this week as well! We read lots of poems and even constructed umbrellas that display the poem “April showers bring May flowers.” These will also be up at Showcase.
In Math this week we practiced counting by tens.
***Note: We are in need of toilet paper rolls, paper towel rolls, and wrapping paper rolls for a Cinco de Mayo project that we will be doing on Monday! There is an ongoing need for Velveeta cheese boxes (2 lb. size)! Any contribution would be greatly appreciated!

I am sad to report that my student teaching time has come to an end! My last day will be Monday, May 5th, but I will be back for Showcase and the May Awards Assembly. I wanted to thank students and families for a wonderful student teaching experience! I have enjoyed working with your children for the last twelve weeks and I will miss them very much!
