The object of education is to prepare the young to educate themselves throughout their lives. ~Robert Maynard Hutchins
Reminders to Parents:
Please check your child's folder daily and send the folder back to school everyday.
We encourage parent participation in your child's education by working in the classroom, reading nightly to your child, helping with homework and reinforcing skills taught in kindergarten.

Fall Festival!
On October 30, all three kindergarten classes got together for our Fall Festival, playing games with teachers and parents. To watch an audio slideshow of the festival, click on the link below. You will need to enter the password: kindergarten. If the video doesn't play on your computer, you may need to download the Adobe Flash Player here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/.
We have read many books about fall, and our favorite class book is
called Fall Is Not Easy by Marty Kelley ... it is a book that makes us
laugh!
We read all the Laura Numeroff books and learned that they are called circle books because the story completes a circle!
Currently we are reading books written and illustrated by Nancy Carlson. Her books all teach a life lesson!
October themes: fire safety, seasons, and bats!
October math skills we are working on: printing the numbers 0-6 and all kinds of patterns (ABAB, ABBABBA, ABC).
October
reading skills: rhyming words, printing our names beginning with an
upper case letter, the rest of the lower case letters, printing all
letters of the alphabet correctly, learning all sounds of the letters,
and memorizing the following sight words: A, I, me, see, the, like,
yes, no.
