| | | | | Welcome to Mr. Booth's Sixth Grade Class Website! | | | | Mr. Booth | Mr. Booth has taught in the St. Paul School District for 20
years. He was born and raised in Hawaii and spent one year as an
exchange teacher in South Australia. He has a passion
for Global Studies and enjoys Multi-Cultural
Learning. Along with learning about Hawaii and Australia we will
be exploring Ancient Civilizations and their contributions to our
American way of life.
In Sixth Grade at Chelsea we will be using Everyday Math
developed by the University of Chicago. We have a brand new
2008 edition with learning activities accessed by computer
technology.
We will be using the Sixth Grade Anthology for reading at times
but the Reader’s Workshop model will mean more time reading in
Guided Reading groups with literature that is on the students’
independent or instructional reading level.
Writer’s Workshop is a vital part of the Language Arts. It
is exciting to watch children grow and use their creativity in their
personal writing. Some of the genres they will
explore are Memoir, Poetry, Research/Report,
Persuasive Writing and Realistic Fiction.
