Co-President Sara Veblen-Mortenson: My husband Eric and I are parents of Claire in 3rd grade and Erin in 1st grade. My family has lived in the Como Park neighborhood for 20 years, and we continue to appreciate the wonderful community spirit and support for family life found here. I served as the Wellness Committee Chair last year and am looking forward to serving as a co-president this year. My vision is to support the most positive learning environment for our children; for me, that means creating strong links between teachers, parents, the community and our kids because there are ways we can all participate to continue to have a school that strives for excellence. |
Co-President Colleen Wherley: My husband and I have two sons at Chelsea Heights, Theo and Sully Lucy. They are in third and first grade. I also have one son, Finn, who cannot wait until he is old enough to attend Chelsea Heights. I am excited to have a chance to help lead our PTO for the next two years. My main goal in joining the PTO is to help our school community grow through family involvement, neighborhood partnerships and increased visibility in our little corner of St. Paul. |
Vice President Morgan McCann: My wife, Shannon, and I have a 3rd grader (Mitchell) in Mr. Martinson’s class and a Kindergartener (Michael) in Ms. Brown’s class. Our family is the summertime foster family for Jake (the Science Room Snake), and I also coordinate the school sign. I’ve been involved in the PTO for three years. Some of the things I’ve worked on the most as a PTO board member have been coordinating the “no work” fundraisers (with the St. Paul Bagelry & Davanni’s) and other community outreach efforts. The term of my Vice Presidency is up at the end of this year so let us know if you’re interested in a more active role in our neighborhood school’s enrichment activities! |
Treasurer Dean Walczak: My children, Evan (2nd grade) and Elena (4th grade), really enjoy being at Chelsea Heights, and my wife and I are grateful for the education they receive from the school’s excellent faculty and staff. My goal as PTO treasurer is to effectively manage the PTO’s funds and help direct those funds in ways that visibly support the school and its students. |
